WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM A SESSION

CBT therapy can vary in terms of session numbers. It can range from six to twenty sessions. The number of sessions you need will depend on the type of difficulties you are experiencing and how long you have been struggling with your difficulties.

Your initial assessment will give us space to explore this together and we can discuss what might be suitable in terms of the duration of your treatment.

“Thank you for helping me to challenge my thoughts and develop new ways of thinking.”

HOW CAN PSYCHOTHERAPY HELP?

It may be that you are feeling stuck in the same patterns of behaviours and struggling with difficult emotions. Or that your past is very much present. You may be struggling with high levels of anxiety or experiencing relationship issues. Psychotherapy aims to help you gain insight or new perspectives for difficulties you may be experiencing. I can offer you a safe and confidential space to help formulate your difficulties and to work together to create manageable changes to help live your life.

WILL OUR SESSION REMAIN CONFIDENTIAL?

As a Cognitive Behavioural therapist I am bound by my professional code of conduct regarding confidentiality. I will only share information if there is a concern of risk (either to yourself or others) and I would have a duty of care to share information with statutory services. I also share information with my clinical supervisor. All CBT therapists are required to have clinical supervision to ensure that they provide the best possible care to their clients. This is a meeting with another accredited therapist in which we can discuss therapy related issues. If I need to discuss anything regarding your treatment in clinical supervision, I will only use your initials and will not disclose any information which could identify you. Please note that clinical supervisors are bound by the same rules of confidentiality.
